An angioma is a limited vascular lesion, located in the layer of sub cutaneous tissues (fat, muscles).

An angioma may be congenital l ( present at birth, or some days after birth), or may appear lastly. 3 at 5 % of newborns have an angioma, all kinds and sizes mixed.

Main kinds of angioma are:

  • Naevus flammeus.
  • Stellar angioma :
    • common starry and reddish lesion.
  • Plane angioma :
    • called usually "strawberry mark"..
  • Hemangioma ( or tuberous angioma or strawberry-like angioma):
    • Very common, girls are more often concerned than boys. Often of little size, 80% of them will be not surgically treated. Some of them, with esthetic and functional consequences will need an adapted and specialized treatment.
  • Lymphangioma.

A new classification of cutaneous vascular lesions is now established and allows a new international therapeutic approach of these lesions.
